I Am Number Four (2011) Film Review for Cinefantastique Online

From the archives, my review of D.J. Caruso’s I AM NUMBER FOUR, based on the comic book series cowritten by James Frey. A floppy, trashy science-fiction teen film starring Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron, Caruso’s usual assuredness with action-adventure is nowhere to be seen here. Also featuring performances by Kevin Durand and the immensely talented Timothy Olyphant, I AM NUMBER FOUR was nearly impossible to watch, and a review was even more difficult. This review was originally published by Cinefantastique Online in February 2011.

EAGLE EYE (2008) Film Review:

Daniel Kulick and I review the D.J. Caruso action film EAGLE EYE starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan. A bit of a bore as action films go; LaBeouf does not get the chance to exhibit any sense of his acting abilities and Monaghan is fairly square as well. Check out our thoughts on this mediocre little film, broadcast on THE ROTTEN TOMATOES SHOW.
